Character Name: Gambit
Character LJ:
aqua_gambit
Physical description: 6'2"; 320 lbs.; toned, muscular build; bronze skin; blond hair; blue eyes; He is bilaterally symmetric, with two legs and arms terminating with feet and hands respectively. His hands have four independently moving fingers each, with opposable thumbs. He has two forward facing eyes, giving him precise stereoscopic vision. His whole anatomy is denser in order for him to survive the tremendous pressures of the Ocean floor. He also has gills which enable him to breathe underwater.
Age: 20
PB: None. Using Comic images
Abilities: In comics, Gambit has been shown as an amphibious hybrid possessing superhuman strength, speed, agility, endurance, reflexes, and durability, the ability to breathe underwater, communicate with ocean life, and generate invisible force fields for assault, protection or transportation.
Flight: No, he does not have little ankle wings. It doesn't seem to effect his flight abilities.
Force Fields: Gambit can also mentally generate a psionic field of invisible force apparently drawn from hyperspace, which he manipulates for a variety of effects. Most commonly, Gambit generates near-indestructible invisible force fields around himself or other targets. He can vary the texture and tensile strength of his field to some extent, rendering it highly rigid or as soft and yielding as foam; softer variations on the field enable him to cushion impacts more gently, and are less likely to result in a psionic backlash against Gambit himself (in rare cases, sufficiently powerful attacks on his psionic fields can cause him mental or physical pain).
Trained in Atlantean combat methods and fluent in English, Atlantean, and Lemurian languages.
Weaknesses and flaws:
Due to his dependence on water to maintain his health and vitality, Gambit possesses a variety of unique vulnerabilities.
Water Deficiency: When not exposed to water, many of Gambit’s physical attributes gradually decline and can reach a point where he possesses only a small fraction of his powers. Gambit's strength, stamina, and durability are affected most and, at their minimum known level, are much closer to the levels possessed by the vast majority of other Atlanteans. Renewed exposure to water will immediately restore his abilities. Complete lack of contact with water will prove fatal in about a week’s time.
Dehydration: Very powerful heat-based attacks are a somewhat concern, as they can cause dehydration and cause his body to dry faster and weaken at at a accelerated rate.
Pollution: If Gambit is immersed in or exposed to polluted water, it can have a negative effect both on his physiology and the efficiency of his physical attributes.
Character location/Home: New York / Earth-6706
Alignment: Hero
Relatives: Namor (father); Sue Storm (mother), Valeria Fen (sister), Ariana (sister), Erin (sister), Johnny (brother)
Backstory: In another reality, 50 years prior to the appearance of the New Exiles, Susan Storm and her crew take their maiden voyage into space. In addition to being bombarded by cosmic radiation their shuttle is hit by a meteor shower. The shuttle is destroyed and crashes to the Earth where only Sue survives, rescued by a man who can breathe underwater. The Earth is then rocked by the meteors that change the world cataclysmically.
When the New Exiles arrive on the planet for another mission, their Rogue is rescued by a blond Attlantean named Gambit. He is the son of King Namor and Queen Susan, who have gone into hiding due to political turmoil. His real name is Remi. Gambit and the other members of the royal family help the Exiles with their mission to save the planet. Intrigued by the adventure the New Exiles seem to have, Gambit volunteers to join them. He stayed with the team up through their mission to to Earth-1137, where the sentient life forms are descended from evolved insects. As the team was coming back from that mission, something went wrong with the transportation. Gambit did not make it back to the Crystal Palace with the rest of the team. He was shunted off to another reality with no way to contact his team...
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Going to drop him in the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir in Central Park, which places him closest to the Avengers mansion.
What are you planning to do with this character? What do you want to see happen with this character?: I plan on him being on the Avengers as well as forming some sort of relationship with his two alternate sisters. He is generally made to have fun and help shore up the male population of the game. ;}

Abilities: In comics, Gambit has been shown as an amphibious hybrid possessing superhuman strength, speed, agility, endurance, reflexes, and durability, the ability to breathe underwater, communicate with ocean life, and generate invisible force fields for assault, protection or transportation.
- Human/Atlantean Physiology:
- Amphibious Physiological Adaptation: Gambit's body is specially developed for underwater conditions, granting him specialized blood circulation to withstand freezing temperatures and highly developed vision to see clearly even in murky ocean depths. This hybrid physiology means he can survive indefinitely underwater or on land, though he would still need occasional contact with water to survive.
- Superhuman Strength: Like all Atlanteans, Gambit is superhumanly strong. While Gambit is immersed in water, or is not severely dehydrated, he is capable of easily lifting 30 tons. However, the longer Gambit is out of contact with water, his strength gradually weakens to the point where he possesses mere fractions of his peak physical strength (although prolonged surface activity could reduce his strength to 33% or lower). Any form of contact with water or consumable liquid will immediately restore him.
- Superhuman Speed: Gambit can run and move at speeds greater than even the finest human athlete. His speed is greatest, however, while swimming where he can reach 40 mph.
- Superhuman Stamina: Gambit's advanced musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of normal human beings, and most other Atlanteans for that matter. Gambit's stamina, much like his strength, steadily declines the longer he is out of contact with water and will diminish to the point where he only has slightly greater stamina than the finest human athlete.
- Superhuman Agility: Gambit's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Gambit's reflexes are similarly heightened and are superior to those of the finest human athlete.
- Superhuman Durability: The tissues of Gambit's body are much harder and more resistant to physical injury than those of normal human beings.
- Aquatic Healing: If injured, Gambit's body can heal damaged tissue faster and more extensively than an ordinary human or most Atlanteans. Gambit's accelerated healing is at its peak while he is immersed in water and diminishes the longer he is out of contact with water or if he is completely dry.
- Extended Longevity: Atlanteans age much slower and live much longer than human beings with the average Atlantean lifespan being about 120 years.
- Amphibious Breathing: Like all Atlanteans, Gambit can breathe indefinitely underwater due to having gills located behind his ears. Unlike most Atlanteans, however, Gambit can also breathe on land indefinitely as well without the aid of breathing devices whereas most Atlanteans can only survive being out of the water for a matter of minutes.
- Aquatic Telepathy: Gambit possesses a telepathic rapport with all forms of marine life. He is able to mentally communicate with most forms of marine life and can mentally persuade them to do assist him.
